ILLINOIS 100, INDIANAPOLIS 88: (Danville, Ill.) - Two weeks ago, Indianapolis easily dismantled Illinois at home, and were looking to sweep the season series tonight across the state border in Danville. But tonight was not an evening for road teams in the CBA, as Illinois jumped out the gates with a 27-10 run and never looked back. They extended the lead to 19 points in the second quarter, and finished the third quarter with a 22-point lead at 76-53, ultimately cruising to their second consecutive home victory this season. Illinois (2-2) was led by Tyron Criswell (6'4''-G, college: Nevada) and Kashif Watson (6'4''-G-87, college: Idaho), with 18 points each, while Indianapolis (3-2) was led by Chrishawn Hopkins (6'2''-G-91, college: Wright St.) with 20 points, Anthony White, Jr. with 18 points, and Tyler Bibbs (6'6''-F-93, college: St.Francis, IN) with 17 points. Illinois travels to Fort Wayne tomorrow evening to face the defending champions, while Indianapolis embarks on a road trip to Mississippi and Bowling Green next weekend.
BALTIMORE 84, MISSISSIPPI 74: (Severn, Md.) - After completing a brutal four-game road trip to start the season, Baltimore enjoyed returning home to begin a four-game homestand, and looking for their first victory of the year this evening against a Mississippi club who had won three out of their last four contests. Baltimore, similar to their Illinois expansion team counterparts tonight, started the game strong, going on a 17-0 run midway through the first quarter to take a 28-10 lead after the first period. In the second quarter; however, Mississippi held the hosts to just nine points, to cut the deficit to two points with three minutes remaining in the first half. But that's as close as the visitors were able to get, as Baltimore pushed the lead to double-digits in the third quarter, and used a 9-3 run late in the fourth to hold off any potential Mississippi comeback. Baltimore (1-4) who earned their first win of the season was led by Torey Fassett (6'6''-F) (22 points), while Mississippi (3-3) was led by Marico Stinson (6'3''-G-88, college: Ky Wesleyan) and Jerry Hampton (6'9''-C, college: Le Moyne-Owen) with 18 points each. Baltimore hosts Middle Tennessee next Saturday evening, while Mississippi returns home for their final two games, hosting Indianapolis next Saturday night as well.

CBA continues Caribbean outreach as Illinois' John Spezia named head coach of Antiguan National Team - 1 month ago
In the first five seasons of the Central Basketball Association, coaches from the CBA member teams have advanced their careers in different ways after participating in the league. Some have become high school coaches or athletic directors, others have become college assistant coaches or head coaches, and even one became a NBA D-League assistant coach. However, on the verge of the sixth year of the CBA, a feat was accomplished today that is a first for the league: a CBA head coach was name...   [read more]

titlFORT WAYNE 95, INDIANAPOLIS 92: (Danville, Ill.) - In a battle between the two top teams in the league, featuring the top-seeded Indianapolis Blaze and the second-seed and defending league champions, Fort Wayne Flite, it was fitting that the contest literally went down to the final minute. The first quarter was a back-and-forth affair with Indianapolis taking a 23-22 lead, only to have Fort Wayne erupt to a double-digit advantage midway through the second quarter behind Greg Foster (6...   [read more]
