The Minot Skyrockets opened their 2008-09 season yesterday night, with a clear win in the CBA-ABA interleague game with the Chicago Steam. Final score was 110-84. The Skyrockets kept a better inside scoring all game long, Chicago was limited by some absences in the backcourt, due to injuries, and stayed in the race only thanks to 3pt shooting. The game best performers were for Minot Aaron Spears (6'10''-C-84, agency: Interperformances, college: St.John's) with 24 points, 11 boards, Lee Scruggs (6'11''-F/C-79, agency: Edge Sports, college: Georgetown) with 14 points, 11 boards, 2 blocks, veteran Ronnie Fields (6'4''-G-77, agency: Edge Sports) with 18 points, 7 boards, 7 assists and Royce Parran (5'9''-G-85, college: Chicago St.) with 17 points, 4 assists. Chcago had a good performing from Eric Smith (6'1''-G-83, college: Campbell), who ended the game at 23 points, 5 boards, 7 assists (5-10 in 3pointers), Chris Hopson with 21 points, 9 boards, 3 assists and Michael Henderson (6'5''-F, college: Chicago St.) with 20 points, 10 boards.
