Sun Kings crowned CBA Champions
The Yakima Sun Kings defeated the Grand
Rapids Hoops 117-107 Monday night at the Sun Dome winning their third CBA
Championship (2000, 1995). The Hoops led most of the first half taking a 57-56
lead at the half. Yakima stormed back in the second outscoring Grand Rapids
61-50 and ending the Hoops hopes of a first CBA title. Darrick Martin (180-G-71,
agent: Rose Leon, college: UCLA) led Yakima with 33 points and Mitchell Butler
added 24. Damian Cantrell had a tremendous game as well with 16 points and a
game high 15 rebounds. Alex Scales led Grand Rapids with 34 points and Olden
Polynice and Kareem Reid chipped in with 14. Yakima - Grand Rapids 117-107
