The New York Black Eagles enter the 2017-18 season with high hopes and a number of new additions. While the roster includes a variety of new players, the team also includes a number of returning players as well. The returning players are led by APBL veteran Roman Perez (6'1''-G-86, college: City Tech). Perez has enjoyed a number of successful years in the APBL but also just finished playing with Club Maximo Gomez in the Dominican Republic. Other returnees include Antwann Parks (6'0''-G), Eric Headley (6'4''-F), Nefty Martinez (7'1''-F), Edwige Marcelin (5'9''-G), Dwayne Hamlin, Muhammad Karim (5'9''-PG-84, college: John Jay), Ron Bredwood (6'0''-G), and Jophy Paula.

The additions include Solomon Bamiro (6'5''-G/F-84, college: Stony Brook) and Winston Douglas (6'5''-F-86, college: Medgar Evers), both veteran basketball players with overseas playing experience. Bamiro recently played in the Dominican Republic and Douglas has played a number of years in Latin America. Terell Roper (6'5''-G, college: York, NY) and Dwayne Neal (5'8''-G, college: Briar Cliff) both of whom were members of the New York Fearless during the 2016-17 APBL season. Rookies Russell Mitchell (6'5''-F), Jonathan Maldonaldo, and Jarrett Fair (6'5''-C, college: CCNY) also join the team in hopes of contributing this season.

The Black Eagles opened the 2017-18 season with a 101-89 win over Unbreakable Talent. The team will also face the NY Badgers on Saturday, November 4th.
