Shuckers Defeat Hawks - Mar 9, 2016

The Bay Area Shuckers (8-5) defeated the NoVa Hawks (5-5) 85-74 to win the Commonwealth Division and earn a first round bye in the American Professional Basketball League (APBL) playoffs.

Torey Fassett led Bay Area in scoring with 24 points, followed by Gus Chase with 14. Fasset also was tops in rebounds pulling down 13 boards.

For his efforts Fassett was named the Coffee News of Maryland Player of the Game.

The win earns the Shuckers their second division title in three seasons.

The Shuckers will now await the outcome of the remaining APBL regular season games and the opening and first round playoff games to find out their second round opponent.

The #1 ranked Bombers closed out the #2 ranked APBL United 123 -105 to win the American Professional Basketball League championship. Bombers had seven players who scored in double-figures led by the championship game MVP - Derrell Armstrong (6'1''-G-91, college: NC-Greensboro)'s 24pts.
