The American Basketball Association (ABA) released the Power Rankings for the first week of the 2017-2018 season and the defending Champion Jacksonville Giants, choached this year too by Jerry Williams , maintained their #1 position. "We had only 3 games this weekend," stated ABA co-founder Joe Newman . "But we decided to start the Power Rankings even though the full schedule doesn't begin until next weekend. The Richmond Elite replaced the DMV Warriors at #3 with an upset victory to begin both teams' season and the Binghamton Bulldogs moved into the Top 25 with a win over the Roc City Ravens.
