Duck Richards , GM/Head Coach of the Atlanta Aliens, tells to Usbasket that his team participated in the King of Hoops Pro-Am Tournament in Atlanta, Georgia August 19-21, 2016 and made it to the Elite-8 but fell short from making it to the Final-4 after losing to the Dirty South 47-54.
This event had a total of twenty teams from Los Angeles to New York competing to see who would be crowned as the King of Hoops on the court. The Aliens reunited for the first time since last season lost their first game to the Head Hunters 39-46. Facing elimination round in their second game, the Aliens forced double overtime and defeated Elevate Sports Academy 42-38. The Aliens subsequently won three games straight knocking out O.T.P. 33-31 and ATS Ballers 62-35 before losing to Dirty South. The team finished the weekend 3-2. "We enjoy playing competitive games because it makes us better as a team" said Richards who is set to start his seventh year in the ABA as a Head Coach.
The Atlanta Aliens will have their annual veteran camp Saturday, October 1, 2016 from 10:00am-2:00pm at Grant Park, 537 Park Ave. S/E Atlanta, GA 30312. The registration fee is $75. This camp is only for serious veterans with experience.
