Tre Nichols
The West Texas Whirlwinds took a large win over the Texas Fuel during this past weekend. The game ended 92-66. Whirlwinds jumped out to a fast start with a 21-3 run, ending the 1st quarter 34-6. They had some very strong play from back court players. Starting with newest Whirlwind Boise State's own Tre Nichols (5'11''-G-89) with 10 points 7 assists, Berry Whitley (5'9''-G-81, college: SUNO) with 10 points 13 assists 6 steals, Terry Walker and Larry Boyd (6'4''-G/F-82) 12 points each and the Saunders twins Marlo 29 points and Marcus with his 3rd triple double this year with 12 points,14 rebounds and 11 blocked shots.
For the Fuel, Brad Hamlin led the way at 13 points and Mike Willis added 12 points.
Next Game for the Whirlwinds is Two undefeated Division leader's Dallas Vandal and Whirlwinds Tip off 5pm 1/19 at Home.

Whirlwinds are now 8-2

Kevin Waters
Waters named Coach of the Year - 15 days ago

Jacksonville Giants' Head Coach Kevin Waters was named Coach of the Year at the end of 2015-2016 season, for the third time in six year stint in the ABA. Coach Waters has led the Giants to Back to Back ABA National titles in 2011-12, 2012-13 and winning his third title the season just ended. In his tenure the Giants have broke two professional scoring records and he has placed numerous players overseas.
