West Texas Whirlwinds is excited to announce the start of the 2012-13 American Basketball Association (ABA) season! Our kick-off game will be Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 7 p.m. at University of Texas of the Permian Basin (UTPB) gymnasium. We will be honoring our United States veterans for their service to our country.
We have some key players returning this seasonof course our dynamic duoABA All-Starts, and twins Marcus Saunders (6'10''-C-84, college: Texas-PB) and Marlo Saunders (6'5''-F-84, college: Texas-PB) and Nedrie Simmons (5'9''-G, college: Texas-PB) all 3 are UTPB alums, Berry Whitley (5'9''-G-81, college: SUNO) ( lead us in assist the 3 season), Billy Wilson (6'8''-F/C-84, college: N.C.Central), Traellis Gregg (6'5''-G/F-86), Jeremy Quincy (6'3''-G, college: Southern) and John Hollman (6'3''-G-84, college: Langston).
New to our roster are: Louis Crane (6'0''-G-90), Erik Martin (6'5''-F-89) ( two time Def player of the year at UTPB), Derrick Shaw, and Terry Walker Jr.
We extend a great big west Texas welcome to all the team and look forward to an awesome season!
